The Environmental Profile

"An Environmental Profile of the Island of Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin
Islands" ,
completed in September, 2009 provides an overview of the facts,
challenges, and opportunities of the island of Jost Van Dyke.  Researched
and produced by the Island Resources Foundation, the profile serves as a
baseline document for all who are interested in the island; and it provides an
effective means to ensure that environmental issues are addressed in
development planning.  The Profile is being distributed to a wide range of
BVI agencies and community leaders to maximize is value.  On Jost van Dyke
copies for review are at the District Officer's office and at the Preservation
Society office.

The profile is available here in two forms.  A complete 149 page version is
available, plus a chapter-by-chapter format is also available.  The numbered
chapters each include findings in the research plus recommendations for
action.

For those interested in the flora and fauna, see Chapter 3 for extensive
information.  For history buffs, check out Chapters 5 and 6.

If you have a particular interest in new research based upon the profile's
findings, please let us know...There is a lot of work to do!

The Society encourages wide readership.  And, we would enjoy hearing your
comments and feedback to enhance our understanding and get ideas for
future efforts.
